Discover the impressive wax figure of Blas de Lezo. This Spanish naval hero, known as "Mediohombre" (in English "Half-man") for his reckless war wounds, who is admired for his bravery, strategic astuteness, and legacy as a legendary figure of the Spanish navy.

Born in Pasajes (Guipúzcoa) in 1689, Blas de Lezo joined the Spanish Navy at a very young age and quickly excelled in combat. Throughout his career he lost a leg, an eye, and the use of an arm, which earned him the nickname of "Half-man". His greatest achievement was the defense of Cartagena de Indias in 1741, where, with limited troops, he defeated a huge British fleet, ensuring Spanish rule in South America. Despite his success, he died shortly after, without the official recognition he deserved. His legacy has grown over the years, whereby becoming a symbol of military resistance and strategy.  Interesting fact: he never hid his wounds, but rather proudly displayed them as a sign of honor and bravery.
