He formed part of the Generation of 1927 and wrote fundamental works such as “Romancero gitano”, “Bodas de sangre”, or “La casa de Bernarda Alba”. His poetic and symbolic style broke the mold and gave voice to the deepest human emotions. He traveled to New York, Cuba, and Argentina. Through his art, he condemned social injustices and repression. He was assassinated in 1936 shortly after the outbreak of the Spanish Civil War, in a crime that still resonates with and moves Spain today. Interesting fact: in addition to writing, Lorca was a great pianist and dreamed of becoming a musician before turning to literature.
